Scent and Story

Welcome to the premiere of "A TRANSCENDENTAL EXPERIENCE". This short film is a gateway to understanding our latest release THE SHAMAN. My vision was to create a profile that encompasses sacred oils used throughout human history during rituals and spiritual ceremonies. The Shaman is revered as a medicine man, spiritual healer and mystic. A figure that can transcend between the tangible and spiritual realms. The film invites the viewer to experience the ancient practices of the shaman as he delves into his spiritual creative process of the blending of natural ingredients.

The Shaman profile is composed of several oils and scents considered sacred throughout history. Known by the Incas for its purifying powers, Palo Santo. Frankincense used in the Middle East and during the early years of Christianity, was used in burial rituals and buried alongside the dead as an offering. Nag Champa a meditative scent was considered as very sacred. Burning these incense sticks formed an integral part of any Hindu or Buddhist ceremony.

These are the primary notes in combination with several other holy scents used in Native American ceremonies.

As with every other Barbu profile expect complexity, artistry and a unique approach to the craft. My goal is for you to indulge your sense of smell and allow your mind to be enchanted.

I sincerely hope you enjoy the film as it is the video I have most enjoyed making. The scent is as powerful as the film so be prepared to potentially have your consciousness elevated. But you have to be willing and clear your mind first!

Carrier Formula

A blend of all natural and organic carrier oils to ensure your beard stays nourished and hydrated. No artificial fillers or preservatives or water down junk in any of our products! We source our oils from the top brands on the market to ensure a healthy and satisfied beard. Carriers oils used in our products are: Organic Jojoba, Organic Argan, Organic Moringa, Cold pressed pure Grape seed, Organic Sweet Almond, Organic Castor and Vitamin E.

Labels

The last thing you need is runny ink on your hands when you are applying your oil. All our product labels are oil and water-proof.

How to Apply

Depending on your beard length place several drops of oil in the palm of your hand and rub both hands together. Massage the oil into your skin and out onto your beard in a back and forth motion. Rub the left over oil into your hair or those faded out tattoos (if you have any). Use our handmade in the USA, Barbu Beard Co. Walnut wooden comb and brush in a downward motion carefully not to graze the skin. If you need added hold use our Barbu Beard Co. beard balm to keep those little wild beard hairs in line. The Barbu Beard Co. bristle brush is also great to lightly shape your mane.

Disclaimer

*As a small batch company we maintain our products fresh by making small amounts. Therefore we never have products sitting on our shelves for very long. We suggest these tips for maintaining the longevity of our products.

Keep products in a cool dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat. Ensure that you securely tighten caps and closures to avoid oxidation and scent loss. Avoid moisture and water from making contact with products. Especially products kept in the shower like Co-Washes and Beard Shampoo.

Oils, balms and butters: 1 to 1.5 years
Beard Co-Wash (The Companion): 1 year
Beard Wash (The Accomplice) : 3 years

DEFINITELY a transcendental experience!!

Now I gotta admit..when I purchased my FIRST bottle of Shaman..I gotta admit..the scent was unfortunately way too strong for me...AT FIRST but I still wore it cause it made my beard feel absolutely insane in the best sense of that word. When I reached about a quarter of the bottle left,I put some in..and it just hit so much different and I love it! It is now in my steady rotation and the wife absolutely loves it!! I wear this and only this when I do my meditation and or journaling. If you never tried it,try it!!

Sham(an) Wow !

As someone new to Barbu, but not all kinds of Beard products, I've only had a few occasions getting a whiff of something new out of bottle or in Beard, and just exclaiming ..."OH MY!" I've had that reaction just a couple times, often from the same few Beard companies...well add BARBU to that very short list! The Shaman is complex and evolves in beard. I was transported back to my HS days in the late 70's and could tell this product was made with quality and carefully selected ingredients. Also, Abraham reached out to me as a first time customer which was much appreciated and now knows he has added another loyal beardsman to Barbu. For sure will be back for more, so thanks and keep doing what you're doing Abraham and BBC !

Not a fan of the scent! But,...

I knew that when I was buying the shaman.I was taken a chance on loving the scent or the opposite. Unfortunately I do not like the scent. But I am still giving a 5 star review because.. The FEEL In Beard is amazing.The quality presented during the unboxing is top notch! Will definitely order another oil in the future. I’m sure many will love the scent. Unfortunately just not for me

Holy awesome

This scent is majestic, all of the spiritual scents merge perfectly into a deep, smooth and beautifully crafted holy awesome scent. Feels so great in my beard, it has risen to my and my wife’s top 2 of favorite beard oils. Well done. Very well done.

A very complex scent!!!

This is my first foray into the land called Barbu Beard Co. I always try to expand my experiences with my oils and I found one that is so complex I'm not sure whether to say I like it or I don't. I am familiar with most of the essential oils used, however there are a couple here that I was unfamiliar with. Right out of the bottle you get kind of a minty type smell. But as the day wears on the scent just goes in all kind of directions but is controlled by a musky type scent that pulls it all together rather nicely. The feel in beard is really pretty good. I have a grey beard and by the end of the day my beard does feel a bit on the dry side. But that could be a result of the unscented balm I used with the oil. So if you are a fan of mint you'll like this oil early on. But the profile changes many times before the end of the day. The scent is not an overpowering scent, but it is long lasting. All in all this won't be the only product I purchase from Barbu!
