As you may already know, at Barbu we strive to create uniquely high quality scent profiles and thoughtfulness in our presentation to provide an excellent experience for our customers.

The Gold Standard might be one of the most creative scents yet. Inspired by the current state of our economy and high rates of inflation, many experts have warned that diversifying your portfolio is essential to protect yourself from an economic collapse. Along with the devaluing of our fiat currency holding other forms of wealth is paramount. Should we return to The Gold Standard?

Scent

We set out to create a scent that represents in our mind what gold would smell like if it had a scent. This complex yet sophisticated and clean profile has top notes of citrus, spicy mid accords of Bay Rum and rich base notes of Tonka Bean and Teakwood. But as usual there are several other scents blended into this profile. 

The Gold Standard comes in a 1 oz clear boston bottle that dispenses via orifice and golden screw cap. In order to enhance the presentation we have added 24k edible gold flakes into the oil. Shaking the bottle will display the flakes suspended in the bottle but will eventually settle to the bottom. For a label, we have made a custom Barbu wax seal for both the bottle and the tin. This set will make for a great conversation piece and a unique bottle for your collection.

2 oz Balm

Included in this set is a 2 oz balm. This is a light hold balm reminiscent of our butters but with a little more hold. It has a smooth and rich consistency while providing control for your fly aways.

We use the same high quality organic carriers and butters as in our other products.
