The Bushman Beard Butter

This scent is inspired by Chris Damato aka @damatostippling one of our Barbu Barbudos. Sometime ago he reached out to us about wanting to create a campfire scent. Being an avid outdoors man, we wanted to create something that would resemble the essence of being in the outdoors and the smokey reminiscent scent of sitting around a campfire.

Scent

This is truly a man's scent. Sure it could've been easy to find a fragrance oil named "campfire bliss" and call it a day. But you know by now, that is not Barbu's style. The star of show is Vetiver with its natural smokey profile. Together with some other woodsy base notes and a refreshing top note of Balsam Fir, this profile hits the mark. You'll also find some earthy tones that will surely ground your senses as well. You will be literally transported back to when you were in the Boy Scouts on a camping trip or during a long hunting expedition.

Carrier and Butter Formula

A blend of all natural and organic carrier oils to ensure your beard stays nourished and hydrated through the night. No artificial fillers or preservatives or water down junk in any of our products! We source our oils from the top brands on the market to ensure a healthy and satisfied beard. Butters and Carriers oils used in The Bushman: Organic white Beeswax, Organic Shea Butter, Organic Jojoba, Organic Sweet Almond, Vegan/Non-GMO Kokum Butter, Organic Castor, Organic Coconut oil,Vitamin E and 100% Pure Therapeutic grade essential oils and perfume grade fragrance oil blend.

Labels

The last thing you need is runny ink on your hands when you are applying your butter. All our product labels are oil and water-proof.

How to Apply

Using the back of finger nail, scrap a dime size amount and place in the palm of your hand and rub both hands together. Massage the butter into your skin and out onto your beard in a back and forth motion. Use our handmade in the USA, Barbu Beard Co. Walnut wooden comb and brush in a downward motion carefully not to graze the skin. The Barbu Beard Co. boar bristle brush is also great to lightly shape your mane.

*As a small batch company we maintain our products fresh by making small amounts. Therefore we never have products sitting on our shelves for very long. We suggest these tips for maintaining the longevity of our products.

Keep products in a cool dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat. Ensure that you securely tighten caps and closures to avoid oxidation and scent loss. Avoid moisture and water from making contact with products. Especially products kept in the shower like Co-Washes and Beard Shampoo.

Approximate shelf life:

Oils, balms and butters: 1 to 1.5 years
Beard Co-Wash (The Companion): 1 year
Beard Wash (The Accomplice) : 3 years

Reminiscing!

First time I used this butter I used it right before bed and really enjoyed the scent as soon as I put it in my beard. The thing I loved about it though is when I woke the next morning! You see I sleep with a CPAP machine and I cannot really smell anything with it on, but when I woke up.... I saw the sun peeking through the window as it was coming up and the only thing I could see in my mind was sliding out of the tent, stoking the campfire and getting the coffee going like I always did as a kid. After getting my mornin cup a joe, I sat there thinking of all the good times I had with both family and scouts at Devils Den State Park. Then there was that time at Roaring River State Park (but that is a whole story in itself) Brought back some wonderful memories, Thanks Brother!

This morning I tried it in a different way, I used it as normal then partnered it with The Dundee oil. Awesomeness! Both woodsy scent profiles and the undernotes blend well with each other. Like I have said before and will continue to say.... I will be Barbu for life!

Brings back memories of camping as a kid

As I sit here taking it in, I can't help but reminisce of younger days. Like when I used to go camping near Santa Clara in NM with my dad's church. Sitting around the campfires and loving being in the wilderness of the southern Rockies! This butter is very smooth and offers a bit hold as well, leaving my beard feeling very light, and super soft. Kudos Abraham!
